Engineering Director Wanted @ Talkdesk - Lisboa
Talkdesk is looking for a Director of Engineering to lead its engineering team in Lisbon, Portugal. This team has built Talkdesk, a browser-based call center software solution, which is one of the fastest growing SaaS products in the world. Talkdesk has 1000s of customers including Fitbit, Handy, Homejoy, Weather.com and many more.
This person will report to the VP of Engineering/CEO and will work alongside our CTO. The main responsibility of this person will be to build the team’s engineering plans and make sure they are executed on time and with the highest quality. This person will also be responsible for hiring additional team members and developing the current team.
Responsibilities:
We are looking for a Director of Engineering to join our team. You will join a team of passionate, talented engineers that are building innovative products that are used by our customers eight hours a day, five days a week. In this role, we are looking for an engineering leader that knows how to get the best from his team. You have a track record of working with engineering managers, engineers and senior management to introduce planning and processes to meet company goals. When we ask your engineers, they will tell us that they love working for your organization.
In addition to people management, you thrive in a fast-paced iterative engineering environment. You have a track record of succeeding in a rapid release environment. You understand the importance of testing and quality. You believe in measurement and taking action based on data. All while inspiring the team.
Second Responsibilities:
8+ years experience in engineering management.
Excel at planning, creating teams and overseeing execution to meet commitments and deliver with predictability.
Demonstrate a track record of managing a team including hiring, onboarding, and professional development. You inspire your team to reach higher.
Experience implementing tools, processes, internal instrumentation, methodologies and resolving blockages.
Comfortable managing teams and projects with tight deadlines and short release cycles.
Track record of implementing automatic testing and delivering exceptional quality in a high reliability environment.
Passionate about developing, coaching and mentoring your team.
STEM degree, MBA is a bonus point.
